The political/social isolation thing -- please unpack it someday!

I have never wanted to be political on my blog, so it's hard for me to comment on your own musings in that regard. Lately I've resisted thinking of the blog as anything in particular, just because it feels oppressive enough without carrying a lot of rules, too.

But as far as Iraq goes, I've been silenced for several years now. What is there to say but a primal scream of horror? [No, I know there's more, but it feels too depressing and exhausting to formulate it.]

I like the postcard series--I have been thinking of resurrecting my own postcard habits, in fact.

There are a lot of ways to be political and to think about political. You're a political being; you're aware of politics, and politics has tons to do with the daily details you sometimes write about. I'd say just let the blog be however you feel like posting, and watch the rhythms over time.

Yes, I find it hard to comment on Ozpolitics when so much is said elsewhere. It seems easier just to read Crikey or a group blog on the subject.

When it comes to 'external affairs' I feel my niche has become the Aboriginal stuff , but even then, I feel constrained for various reasons sometimes (like confidentiality).
