I thought about linking to Miranda Devine's ludicrous attack on the 'vegan cyclists' who are 'responsible' for Sydney's traffic gridlock. Then I saw that it was one of the most-viewed articles on today's SMH. And I certainly don't want to give her any more oxygen (or indeed any more polluted air.)
It was a complete rant even by her standards. She lost me completely when she said that the reason the "anti-car brigade" is pushing for light rail is that it will take a lane from cars.
Not that it might conceivably make it possible to get from one end of town to the other in less than 20 minutes.

It's hard to tell whether Devine sits in front of her computer and thinks "what's the most provocative attack I can make today?" or if her world really is full of this sort of conversation. Probably a combination of the two. The scariest thing about her is that John Howard is on record as admiring her work.

She'll be the next appointee to the ABC board! Shudder.

I just love how anyone who disagrees with MD belongs to some kind of "brigade". It's awesome.
