talking the walk
We walk to school holding hands and Olle chats away. I often think to myself that I should write down what he says, though written down they may lose some of their impact. Here are some fragments from this morning's walk.
"When I grow up, I'm going to have four dogs. A sexed Jack Russell and..."
"Sexed? what do you mean by sexed?"
"Sexed is the opposite of desexed. So I'm going to have a sexed Jack Russell and I'm going to sell its puppies - and a sexed Spaniel and two German Shepherds".
"They'll take up a lot of space, don't you think?"
"Well I'm going to be an architect so I can design a very big house with lots of space. In fact I'm going to have millions of dogs."
short pause
"Jak thinks that when he's seven, he's going to be older than me. But I'm older than him so when he's seven I'll be seven too. Because he just turned six."
"That's right. He's six and one month and you are six and five months. So you are four months older than Jak".
"And I'm going to be older than him forever."
Today for his school 'news', Olle has taken some Geomags which he has built into a cascade of spinning shapes. (Unfortunately, I have no picture of this, but it's impressive.) We were discussing how he would present this and what he'd do if the magnets attached to each other in his bag and pulled his shapes apart.
"I'll build them again. Do you know how long it takes me to build those shapes? Five hours."
"I don't think it takes you quite that long".
"Oh, it takes about one second".
"I think it takes longer than that".
He gets two minutes for news. I hope the presentation goes well.
There's a little boy in Pride and Prejudice who announces that were he as rich as Mr. Darcy, he'd keep a pack of foxhounds and drink a bottle of wine every day.

Five hours, one second... what's a bit of vagueness amoung friends?
Seriously, I always think I should write down some of Liam's conversation too, but I rarely do. You've inspired me - Olle made me laugh.
